The school maintains a high professional level and all teachers are qualified acupuncturists, auriculotherapists/ear acupuncturists, posturologists, doctors, physiotherapists or psychotherapists.
Our instructors in the auricular acupuncture program have extensive experience both as educators and as practitioners in their own clinics. Upon completion of the program, you can join a professional association, become RAB-registered, and qualify for a VAT exemption.

Pascal Vidal proudly carries on the legacy of Pierre Magnin, adding an extraordinary dimension to our practice.
Photonic therapy, developed by Prof. Pierre Magnin, represents a groundbreaking approach in complementary medicine, in which light and colors play a pivotal role.
Using light projection and color frequencies, this method is applied both to the ears via the auricular approach and directly to the body. During treatment, RAC-VAS pulse assessment is used as a guiding tool to identify and address imbalances in the body.
What makes photonic therapy unique is its holistic approach, which not only focuses on addressing physical symptoms but also aims to balance mental and emotional states.

Program Highlights:
- Location: Copenhagen, Denmark & Online
- Duration & Format: 7 weekends over 2 years, each lasting 3 days (Friday–Sunday).
The first module, the basic module, was held in November 2024 and is available as a replay. - Hands-On Focus: Combines theory and practical application.
- Interactive Learning: Includes Q&A Zoom sessions between modules, three case study presentations by practitioners, and a practical and written exam on the last weekend.
To participate in the program, you must attend in person at the institute in Copenhagen at least twice a year. Online participation is permitted no more than once a year. Although online participation is available, we strongly recommend attending in person as much as possible, as the sessions will include valuable hands-on training.
Please note that it is not possible to attend only individual modules (except for Module 1); this is a comprehensive training program that requires a commitment to the entire curriculum.

, Founder of Photonic Medicine
Dean Pierre Magnin (1926–2020) was a pioneer in complementary medicine and is best known as the founder of Photonic Medicine. His expertise and innovative approach paved the way for a new era in health and treatment. Through decades of dedicated research and clinical practice, he developed a unique understanding of how light and colors can be used to enhance the body’s natural balance and promote health.
Pierre Magnin’s visionary approach has inspired countless people around the world to explore the many benefits of Photonic Medicine. His work paved the way for new treatment methods that combine science with a holistic understanding of the body in a unique and powerful way. As the founder of Photonic Medicine, Pierre Magnin transformed lives and inspired both students and practitioners in the health fields worldwide.
Dr. Pascal Vidal
Dr. Pascal Vidal, born in 1962, is a general practitioner with extensive expertise in complementary medicine, including homeopathy, Chinese acupuncture, auriculotherapy, reflexology, and photonic medicine.
He met Pierre Magnin, founder of Photonic Medicine and author of several books, in 2011, and worked closely with him until his death in 2020. Through this collaboration, Dr. Vidal gained a deep understanding of how light and colors can be used as powerful therapeutic tools to promote health and well-being

AURICULO ACUPUNCTURE TRAINING
The training program for Acupuncturists specializing in Ear Acupuncture / Auriculotherapists consists of 361 contact hours (361 hours of 60 minutes each).
The workload is calculated at 931.5 hours, which is equivalent to 34 ECTS credits.

In addition to the set teaching hours, it is relevant to recognize that part of the education involves self-study, self-treatment, supervision, dedicated time for practical treatment and we recommend group work with your fellow students. This is an integral part of the training and is designed to optimize your learning experience and in-depth understanding of the subject matter.
On the Auriculo acupuncture training program you will be taught:
- Auriculotherapy / Ear Acupuncture - Acupuncture specializing in the ear
- AuriculoMedicine / Advanced Auriculotherapy - frequency treatment etc.
- Posturology - Focus on posture correction using Auriculotherapy

Requirements, MERIT and RAB registration
CREDIT FOR AURICULOTHERAPY, ACUPUNCTURE AND POSTUROLOGY:
If you have already taken courses or completed programs in acupuncture, auriculotherapy or posturology, you can apply for credit for the relevant hours. The application should be sent directly to GMIInstitute by email: dina@godthjaelp.dk.
Medical subjects a RAB registration requires:
To become a Registered Alternative Practitioner (RAB) and be exempt from VAT, you must meet the RAB requirements and pass the exam. Read more about associations further down the page.
See the specific RAB requirements below. However, it is also possible to participate in the program without taking the exam.- 200 hours: Anatomy/Physiology
- 100 hours: Pathology/Pharmacology
- 50 hours: Psychology
- 10 hours: Clinical guidance/client care
- 50 hours: Introduction to other alternative therapies
It is not a requirement that you have finished your medical subjects when you start the Auriculotherapy program, but you must have completed them before you can take the exam.
Credit for the medical subjects:
Of course, if you have already achieved competencies in these subjects, there is no need to repeat them. If you are educated in a healthcare field such as social work, nursing, medicine, physiotherapy, dentistry or midwifery, or if you are, for example, a RAB-approved reflexologist, massage therapist, etc. you probably already fulfill the required medical professional hours for credit.
If you have not yet received medical training, we recommend that you contact E-Medicus, where you can also get a student discount from our school.
Association:
To make sure you can get credit, we recommend that you contact your association or the association you intend to join, as it is the association that is responsible for issuing your RAB approval at the end of the program.
To obtain your RAB certification after completing your training, you must contact your club or a club you are interested in joining. The club is responsible for all RAB certifications.

Some associations have favorable conditions for students. Call the different associations to find out what they can do for you.

The exams are medical exams.
During your program, you will regularly participate in scheduled classes and meetings via Zoom.

Become an ear acupuncturist in a program that meets RAB requirements
The program complies with RAB requirements, which means that particularly high demands are placed on the professional level by the Danish Health Authority and the industry association. The teacher, Rikke Godthjælp, has over 25 years of experience in alternative treatment and over 15 years of experience in training auriculotherapists, posturologists and chromotherapists.
In addition, Rikke Godthjælp is a member of the professional association DBF - Dansk BehandlerForbund and PA - Praktiserende akupunktører, which helps to ensure a high professional level of education.

How long does the Auriculo acupuncture training program last?
The acupuncture program specializing in ear acupuncture takes a total of 2 years to complete.

Where in the country can I take acupuncture training?
The program takes place in Copenhagen, Thy, and online.
Depending on the module and instructor, some courses are held only in Copenhagen, while others are held exclusively in Thy.

How much preparation time should I expect?
Total workload is 1092 hours - Confrontation hours 364.

What are the future prospects for a trained acupuncturist?
After completing the training, you will meet the RAB requirements, which makes you eligible for VAT exemption when you become a member of an association as an Acupuncturist specializing in Ear Acupuncture / AuriculoTherapist.
You will have the skills to treat a wide range of conditions, including physical pain, mental imbalances, functional disorders and biochemical problems in your future patients. This will allow you to apply the extensive knowledge and experience you have gained through the program.

You can start your own clinic, but it's important to remember that it takes time to build a client base. If you already have an existing clinic, integrating Auriculotherapy / Ear Acupuncture is simple.
